The Full Story

Shourya Jain is a vocalist, performer, and voice specialist whose musical identity has always lived between worlds. Born in India and trained in Indian classical music from a young age, she was equally drawn to Western styles—developing a curiosity that would go on to define her artistry. What began as a dual influence has become a clear artistic voice: one that bridges traditions, genres, and approaches to sound.

She went on to study at the renowned KM Music Conservatory, founded by A. R. Rahman, where she trained in Indian classical, Western classical, and musical theatre. Under the guidance of musical director Robert Wilkinson, she deepened her understanding of musical theatre while being introduced to music theory—an experience that reshaped how she approached music. She was awarded the Best Performer Award (2017–18) and received a scholarship in her final year.

After moving to Canada to continue her studies at Centennial College, Shourya stepped into Toronto’s live music scene, performing with the Mike Murray Group—a virtuosic, genre-defying band known for its high-level improvisation and fusion of jazz, rock, and global influences. She is heavily featured on their 2026 album Convergence. She has also shared the stage with the acclaimed Mekaal Hasan Band, further reflecting her place within a global, cross-genre music landscape.

Her work spans performance, recording, and international collaboration. Through platforms like Fiverr and Upwork, she has collaborated with musicians across the world on songwriting projects and commercial recordings, while also working with producer Zenic Pushkarnaa on upcoming releases in 2026.

Known for her exceptional vocal range and fearless approach to music, Shourya is constantly expanding what her voice is capable of. She leans into challenge, explores without hesitation, and continues to grow beyond what she once thought were limits—shaping a sound that is both technically precise and deeply expressive.

Alongside her work as a performer, she is a dedicated educator and a true specialist in vocal technique, helping singers build strong, healthy voices while discovering their own artistic identity.
